I actually agree. Pull 'em. It may be censorship, but it's dangerous not to.
I strongly disagree. I often have to transport my infant during the evening hours on weekends and rely on a similar app to plot the safest route to my destination. I WANT to know which streets have been "sanitized" of drunk drivers just so I can take them. My cargo is too precious to risk otherwise. This app is for our SAFETY.

So the theory they seem to be positing here is that most of the former Symbian users are going to become Windows Mobile users. If you look at the market share figures they show Windows climbing to the 20.9% share that Symbian currently has and Symbian largely ceasing to exist.
The reality is that the OS of phones is becoming the key differentiator. You decide iPhone, Android, or Windows, and then from there you decide the specific hardware you want to run. Nobody is going to be looking for a Nokia phone specifically and then just taking whatever OS it runs.
So if you assume that Android, iOS and Windows are all equal competitors, then figure, at most, Windows is going to take 1/3rd of the market from former Symbian users. Those users will be looking at three OS's that are all completely different from Symbian, so there's no reason to believe they'd have any particular loyalty to the Windows mobile OS because of former Symbian use on a Nokia phone.
They seem to predict that, instead, about 75% of the Symbian users go to Windows mobile. I find that highly unlikely.

Kinda said how a passionate music artist must make this initiative when countries with HUGE sums of cash prefer military spending in their budgets (Canada included) yet not for world equality for medicine.
Kinda said? Actually, it's equality that they're trying to fight AGAINST here. The problem is that there's too much equality, which means they can't afford the medicine.
I'm all for philanthropy, but I don't think that red is the way to go for selling more iPods.

How does streaming music to my iPhone help me, when O2 cap my Internet usage, and then charge when you use more.
It won't, but if you have iTunes on a computer at home, it could save you on constantly replacing worn out hard drives before they crash and lose all your library.

Darn, was really hoping for T Mobile compatibility. Oh well, guess this was pretty expected. What about all the CDMA customers? After 6 months? Never? :confused:

Cingular is GSM just like T-Mobile, which means that depending upon access and the way the phone is 'locked' it will work with T-Mobile too. i have T-Mobile and of course i didn't ever expect Apple to go with them, they just aren't big enough, but Cingular is, i just hope that Apple sells unlocked versions even if its at a premium, or that you can buy an unlocked version from Cingular.

And a large portion of that 99% of the market will find integrated graphics fine, until they venture to the Apple App Store, and find that their spanking new MBA have a video card not supported by 99% of the games on sale... In fact, integrated graphics are not only not supported, but are specifically singled out in most game's system requirements.
I don't question the gaming issue, I just wonder what percentage of MBP buyers would not buy because of the Intel graphics. My uneducated guess would be a very small percentage. Remember, Apple caters to the average consumer, not the geeks.

certainly not if you own the content. cds don't have ads, but radio does.
And DVD's don't have ads even if you rent them (other than trailers, which is pretty standard).

Kind of a huge gap, don'cha think? For an extra $100 I can nearly TRIPLE the capacity? Why would I even consider a 30 GB model?
Or you could purchase a 8GB Nano for the same price which is less than 1/3 the capacity.

Have you ever actually watched Netflix or Hulu on a iPhone or iPad over 3G? It totally sucks - not even close to what it looks like when stored locally, especially on the iPad.

This is a huge concern because of the use by law enforcement (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20055431-1.html) of the Cellebrite device to download and scrutinize the data in cell phones. Apparently, police departments in Michigan are using this device when pulling drivers on traffic violations. Here (http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/34/3458.asp) is another article on the use in Michigan.
Cellebrite's widget is apparently able to download and scrutinize (http://www.cellebrite.com/news-and-events/press-releases/190-cellebrite-releases-ufed-physical-analyzer-version-20-the-new-standard-for-mobile-phone-forensics-.html) the data from a vast variety of mobile devices, including Blackberry phones and the iPhone.

I want to see Apple PUSH Thunderbolt into the logic board and all of the connections. Let's see Thunderbolt run SSD drives!!! If Apple and Intel don't push Thunderbolt into the light and really show how much better it is, and when I say "show" I mean build it and sell it to people, then it'll be a great idea that we'll all get around to years later than we should.
I could care less at the moment about external storage. I'll care at some point but not until the speed in the computer is as fast as it should be.

Well it's old but it still surpasses an awful lot of modern games. Plus the worlds are open, more beautiful and more demanding than all this Call of Duty stuff that's popular at the moment.
The GPU offerings will most likely be the following:
Low end 21.5" - 6490M rebranded as a 6450
High end 21.5" and low end 27" - 6750M rebranded as a 6570 or 6670
High end 27" - 6950M rebranded as a 6750 or 6770
Just looked those up, they don't seem too bad. So long as I can play Borderlands, UT3 and Valves software at max (maybe not max res on that 27"!) then I'll be fine.

I'm just not sure why everyone is so impressed with these imacs.
Faster processor, double the RAM, cheaper AND 21-37% better game performance:
New 17" C2D is 37% faster in UT 2004 than old 17" CD.

New 20" C2D is 37.5% faster in UT 2004 than old 20" CD.
and I don't even play UT 2004 ;).

What a bunch of winey gun-control people in here, the only down side was that the other two involved weren't shot and killed now they get to cost the tax payers more money in court which will be a hell of a lot more than the two the bullets would have cost. :rolleyes:

I think most of you know what I am talking about when I say that the iMac (or a PC) is the work and media center in my room. Several of my friends and family have their huge expensive flat screens TVs in the living room (with or without Apple TV), but in the office, or like in my case, average joe who has no office space in the house, have a computer/laptop in our room or additionally we may have another less expensive TV to watch media in a bigger screen.
A 27 inch is great for office work but just not enough for a room entertainment system. Apple took the 30 inch nice, but hot iron monitor, out of their inventory and never replaced it. I suggest they come up with a 30 or so inch iMac. Not as expensive as a tower, better equipped than a MacBook Pro and by no means as simple as a Mac Mini. Something you can really work on.
Now days TV and PCs are merging technologies and having a nice monitor in your room/office to work with and watch media would just fill the void (not to mention save space). furthermore, imaging being able handle all your work on a nice big screen that does not take as much space and to be able to manage all your media from your room/office and being able to play it anywhere in your house with either Apple TV or any iPod/iPhone device, Cool hu?
